An established housing estate in Surrey had several thousand tonnes of contaminated subsoil and topsoil that needed to be removed to landfill from the front and rear gardens of the houses, due to the nature of its contamination the soil could not go for bio-remediation which was a shame as this would have provided a vast cost saving on the project. Soils and Stone were approached to carry out this delicate operation and supply replacement subsoil and topsoil that met the stringent specification set out by the landscape architect and the Local Authority Contaminated Land Officer. Ozzy commented “This was a particularly difficult operation due to the close proximity of the houses”, it was completed with minimal fuss and disruption to the local residents.
