Recycled Aggregates

Recycled Aggregates

Recycled aggregates is material developed from reprocessing materials that have been originally used in construction, including sand, gravel, concrete, stone, and asphalt.

There are different gradings and sizes for the different types of recycled material available and the processes involved. Most material is crushed to a specific size and processed to remove contaminants through screening processes.

Why use recycled aggregates?

Cost efficient

The cost of using recycled material over primary aggregates for the correct application on a construction site could make a huge difference to the profitability of the project.

By reducing the impact on the environment, using recycled materials rather than it being sent to landfill is supporting the recycling rates within the industry.

Recycled aggregates are available locally, whereas primary aggregates may need to be transported, incurring additional cost and damage to the environment.

With different sizes available they offer a durable and sustainable alternative, and support new developments in their environmentally friendly and sustainable design elements.

We supply a comprehensive range of quality recycled aggregates that are available across the UK and conform to WRAP approved standards.

Our recycled aggregates include:

Recovered from a wide variety of different sources including construction, demolition and excavation sites, our recycled aggregates includes recycled sub-base and fill materials, through to recycled glass sand and everything in-between!

What can recycled aggregates be used for?

As the material is recycled, it is a multifaceted material that can be used for multiple applications such as:

  • bulk fills
  • bank protection
  • base or fill for drainage structures
  • road construction
  • pavements
  • curbing
  • noise barriers and embankments
  • bridge foundations

The prices for recycled aggregates can vary according to the exact grading and the site location. Recycled aggregates are cheaper than primary aggregates, always remember to obtain the correct aggregate for your application. We currently don’t have a cost calculator available online, but please do contact us for further information.
